Hi, everyone!  Thank you for your interest in NST Success Prep.  Please allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Nate Shepherd-Tyson, Founder of NSTSP.  I graduated from Lafayette College with an Engineering Studies degree in 2020 and obtained my Project Management Certification from Cornell University in 2023. 

In My experience, ranging from teaching both youth and adult karate classes to simply helping my classmates, I’ve learned that the collective effort and multi-faceted approach that people need is often either overlooked, or over-simplified.  I’ve always enjoyed the creative process that allows someone to achieve their “AHA!” moment, and the smile on their face in that moment of self-accomplishment.  

I was moved to start NSTSP after working with a major tutoring institution.  While many of my students through that experience were improving, I wasn’t allowed the space to personally connect with the students and adjust lesson plans to best fit their needs.  I founded NST Success Prep in efforts to fill that need and provide that space.  Our instructors understand that our clients are all human and are all different, and are instructed as such.

I’m a firm believer that our growth starts from within, and sometimes we simply need someone to help us spark that fire.  You’ll often hear me talking about the importance of life’s most important skills: leadership, discipline, and self-confidence (Yes, even while tutoring!).  My goal and that of all my team is to captivate the attention of those we are working with while exercising empathy that allows them the space necessary to grow.  

As I’m human, too, I don’t spend all of my time tutoring and working with clients.  In my free time, I greatly enjoy biking, reading thriller novels, or coaching youth flag football.
